Butterflies and moths have been around for millions of years. They used to be a common sight in gardens, but numbers have declined since the 1940s along with our other native wildlife species such as bees and hedgehogs.

It will come as no surprise to hear this loss is due to destruction of natural habitats such as wildflower meadows, peatbogs and ancient woodlands in favour of intensive farming practices, roads and housing developments that have stripped away the majority of their nesting and foods sites. Skagit County Fair! (Mount Vernon, WA) August 6 - 10

It’s almost that time of year again! The Skagit County Fair will be back again this year with all of the necessities!

Come check out the awesome farm animals, art exhibits that have everything from handmade cakes and quilts to LEGO structures and art. Try some of the delicious fried foods such as a corn dog or an onion burst! 

Grab some tickets and ride all of the classic rides like the ferris wheel and the tilt-a-whirl! 

Or watch some of the live entertainment on the main stage! There will be everything from a live talent show to live music and a hypnotist! 

This is a family friendly event! Dress for the weather and come have some fun!

When: Wednesday, August 7th through Saturday, August 10th, 2019 from 10:00 am - 8:00 pm!

Come check out the Skagit Jr. Livestock Market Sale on Friday, August 9th, 2019 at 6:00 pm!  Market animals include beef, swine, lamb, goats, poultry, turkeys, rabbits from the local 4H and FFA youth!

Meet the amazing raptors from Sarvey Wildlife! This event is hosted in partnership with the Arlington Boys & Girls Club!

At this awesome event, your child will get to see the birds up close, hear fascinating facts about them and learn how you can help animals and explore nature in your community! All ages are welcome at this awesome event!

The program will be held at the Arlington Boys & Girls Club on Tuesday, June 25th, 2019 from 2:00-3:00 pm.
